A big thank you to everyone who came and took part – what a weekend! We hope everyone enjoyed Sladyfest on Sunday, and if you have any feedback, comments or ideas for future possible events please email these in to email@example.com. Below are some photos we took, but with all the workshops on we didn’t get a chance to take that many, so please share them with us by emailing in if you have any photos!
Save the date - SlaDIYfest is back!
The non-profit, feminist festival returns to Slade Hall in Levenshulme on Sunday 21st April from 1pm, with a special programme dedicated to our bodies. Yes folks, we’ve all got one!
Come and be inspired, whatever your gender!
More info on location, accessibility, and children here.
All genders welcome from 1pm for life drawing, world groove dance, peer
massage, fire-making, conscious pleasure, Chinese medicine during menstruation
and menopause, bread making, hula making… plus discussions on disabled bodies,
sex work, abortion rights, complicated relationships with food and weight,
BDSM and feminism, tattooing… + more tbc!
A crèche and snacks will be available during the day, plus hot vegan food by
donation in the evening. Bring vegan cakes and treats to share – let’s riot
The open mic will be open again to all genders on the theme of bodies /
feminism, and women/trans-led bands are booked for later.
Please get in touch before the festival to discuss any access needs you may
have. We will try our best to accommodate but please note there are access
issues for at least one of the workshop spaces.
Callout! Festival helpers and coordinators are needed to help things run
smoothly on the day – please get in touch at firstname.lastname@example.org
There are spaces for art that explores the ‘bodies’ theme from a feminist
perspective, and body artists, face painters and hair cutters are also welcome
- get in touch!
The programme is nearly full, but there are still slots available for women /
trans-led skill-shares in the garden during the day – do you have any circus
skills you’d like to share? Could you lead a slacklining session?
If you can help with any of the above, email: email@example.com
